A Shiver of Light -- Laurell K. Hamilton

I am Princess Meredith NicEssus. Legal name Meredith Gentry, because “Princess” looks so pretentious on a driver’s license. I was the first faerie princess born on American soil, but I wouldn't be the only one for much longer...

Merry Gentry, ex–private detective, now full-time princess, knew she was descended from fertility goddesses, but when she learned she was about to have triplets, she began to understand what that might mean. Infertility has plagued the high ranks of faerie for centuries. Now nobles of both courts of faerie are coming to court Merry and her men, at their home in exile in the Western Lands of Los Angeles, because they will do anything to have babies of their own.

Taranis, King of Light and Illusion, is a more dangerous problem. He tried to seduce Merry and, failing that, raped her. He’s using the human courts to sue for visitation rights, claiming that one of the babies is his. And though Merry knows she was already pregnant when he took her, she can’t prove it.

To save herself and her babies from Taranis she will use the most dangerous powers in all of faerie: a god of death, a warrior known as the Darkness, the Killing Frost, and a king of nightmares. They are her lovers, and her dearest loves, and they will face down the might of the high courts of faerie—while trying to keep the war from spreading to innocent humans in Los Angeles, who are in danger of becoming collateral damage.

I've never been so heart broken about not enjoying a book so much. I just got on the band wagon for the Merry Gentry series about a year ago, so I was so excited when this one came out because I had just read all the other for the first time only months before and I didn't have to wait the years for this one to come out like others did.

But after all the hype, I was super let down and so sad by this book. I really thought there would be so much more about the babies. I'm so very angry about what happens towards the end (I refuse to write any spoilers so you'll just have to deal) that I literally threw my tablet! I've never done that! Ugh, I'm still so mad!

Overall, I honestly think I'm hanging up the Merry Gentry series. Sad, but true.

Bound To Me By: Jeannette Medina

Not a fan of this one sadly.

I was really intrigued by the description of the book, but I just had a hard time enjoying it.

Veronica goes to get her first tattoo and the tattoo artist decides to tattoo her with a dragon that comes to life!

Liam is her dragon and her "guardian dragon". His purpose is to help Veronica deal with the bad things in her life like her alcoholic mother.

Shortly thereafter, Liam and Veronica fall for each other. Who wouldn't! He's a freaking bad ass dragon! HAHA

But not everyone gets their happily ever after. Will Veronica? Will Liam get to stay with her after his mission is complete? Or will her tattoo just turn permanent and Liam go back to his dimension?

Their love is quick, but definitely there. I feel for Veronica and I do wish this was a longer book. I think with it being a short story and everything being thrown into it, it just was too quick for my tastes. Too many things happening at one time too quickly.
