Unleash the Night -- By: Sherrilyn Kenyon

An orphan with no clan that will claim him, Wren Tigarian grew to adulthood under the close scrutiny and mistrust of those around him. A forbidden blend of two animals - snow leopard and white tiger - Wren has never listened to anyone when there was something he wanted. Now he wants Marguerite.

Marguerite D'Aubert Goudeau is the daughter of a prominent U.S. senator who hates the socialite life she's forced to live. Like her mother before her, she has strong Cajun roots that her father doesn't understand. Still, she has no choice but to try and conform to a world where she feels like an outsider. But the world of rich and powerful humans is never to meet the world of the Were-Hunters who exist side by side with them, unseen, unknown, undetected. To break this law is to call down a wrath of the highest order.

In order to have Marguerite, Wren must fight not just the humans who will never accept his animal nature, but the Were-Hunters who want him dead for endangering their world. It's a race against time and magic without boundary that could cost Marguerite and Wren not just their lives, but their very souls...

I wish I could peek inside Sherrilyn Kenyon's mind some times. She has such a great imagination and I love the world she has created.

Though, Wren and Maggie's story wasn't one of my all time favorites, it was so very good.

Wren is such a fierce outcast, and falls for Maggie right away. Though they aren't destined mates, that doesn't' matter to them. Nothing will stop these two from being together!

Got to read about more time travel in this one as well. Neat idea that some of these characters have that ability.

OH! And we finally to get to from Nick again! WOOTY WOO!

Sins of the Night - -By: Sherrilyn Kenyon

But every now and again a Dark-Hunter thinks himself above the Code. That's when I'm summoned. Who am I? I'm the one thing the fearless fear. Step over the line and it's my wrath you will face. Nothing can touch me. Nothing can sway me. I am relentless and unfeeling.

Or so I thought until I met a female Dark-Hunter who goes by the name of Danger-it's not just her name, it's how she lives her life. She doesn't trust me at all. And who could blame her? She alone knows that I'm here to be judge, jury and most likely executioner of her friends. Yet she is my key to saving some of them. Without her, they all will die.

Dangereuse St. Richard is a deadly distraction. Something about her is reawakening a heart I thought was long dead. But in a race against evil, the only hope mankind has is that I do my duty. And how can I do my duty when it means that I will have to sacrifice the only woman I've ever loved?

Another fan-tabulous story from the Dark Hunter series! Oh, this series is just so fun to read.

I'm currently re-reading the series for the second time, so I can do reviews for them all and I have to admit, that I am actually enjoying the series the second time around even better than the first!

Ok, so onto Danger and Alexion....

Secluded soul doesn't even begin to describe Alexion. He's been around from nearly day one of the Dark Hunters...but sadly, not as a Dark Hunter! His story is tragic and he is THE reason the DH's even have an 'out-clause' in the first place! Trust me, it's heartbreaking!

Danger...well...she's a little spitfire. It's nice to read about female bad-asses that are also very feminine. She isn't one of those hard-asses just because she is a warrior. She's a bit of fresh air in that regard, lol.

Seize the Night -- By: Sherrilyn Kenyon

Dark-Hunter: an immortal warrior who has traded his soul to Artemis for one moment of vengeance on his enemies. In return, they swear to spend eternity protecting mankind from the daimons and vampires that prey on them. Valerius isn't a popular Dark-Hunter - he's a Roman, which means that the largely Greek Hunters have a major grudge against him and his civilization for superceding them. To make things worse, he's very conscious of his aristocratic background and breeding. So it serves him right when he runs into Tabitha Devereaux. She's sassy, sexy, and completely unwilling to take him seriously. (Not to mention Tabitha is also the sister-in-law of Kyrian, a former Dark-Hunter and Val's mortal enemy.) What Tabitha does take seriously is hunting and killing vampires-and soon she and Val have to grapple with the deadliest of all Daimons - one who's managed to come back from the dead, and one who holds a serious grudge against both of them. To win against evil, Val will have to loosen up, learn to trust, and put everything on the line to protect a man he hates and a woman who drives him nuts.

One of my favorites in the this series! Not only does SO much happen in this book that I really pertains to the future of the series, but I absolutely love Valerius and Tabitha's story.

As much as I love those darn alpha males as the the lead roles, I am such a sucker for those characters like Valerius that has had to endure so much torment over his two thousand years. His dry humor with Tabitha's wild and erratic life are so polar opposites but they work so well together! They make it fun and seriously entertaining.

All the 'back story' information that is given to us in this book is something that is talked about so often throughout this series. The heart break and loss, the decisions made, the deliciousness that is Ash...oh dear....yes, all important!

Amazing book. Loved everything about it. I do wish that last little bit was a bit more detailed, and didn't jump around so much, but I'm still pleased with everything that transpired!

Night play -- By: Sherrilyn Kenyon

Bride McTierney has had it with men. They're cheap, self-centered, and never love her for who she is. But though she prides herself on being independent, deep down she still yearns for a knight in shining armor.

She just never expected her knight in shining armor to have a shiny coat of fur...

Deadly and tortured, Vane Kattalakis isn't what he seems. Most women lament that their boyfriends are dogs. In Bride's case, hers is a wolf. A Were-Hunter wolf. Wanted dead by his enemies, Vane isn't looking for a mate. But the Fates have marked Bride as his. Now he has three weeks to either convince Bride that the supernatural is real or he will spend the rest of his life neutered--something no self-respecting wolf can accept...

But how does a wolf convince a human to trust him with her life when his enemies are out to end his? In the world of the Were-Hunters, it really is dog-eat-dog. And only one alpha male can win.

Though I really like their attraction and really adore the characters as a whole, Vane and Bride's story is really not one of my favorites.

As the first branch off into the Were-Hunter world of the Dark Hunter series, this story is primarily based on describing the roles of the Were-Hunters and the differences between the packs. Vane and Bride have basically an instant connection and are essentially forced together by the Fates (those bitches, LOL).

Overcoming self-esteem issues when your guy is hotter than hot is one of every chubby girl problems, right? Quite a few times I wanted to just roll my eyes at Bride for all her own personal demons and issues, but being a heavy girl myself, I basically could feel everything she did throughout the book. Though, I sincerely hope that not every chubby girl has to land herself a "Taylor" type boyfriend in their lives. No one deserves that. Nor a sister like hers either for that matter. Hurting or not, Bride's sister is a major bitch!

Anyway, as with every long series, there will inevitably be a few books someone isn't fond of. I've already read this series once, and since this is my second round through, my feels stay the same with Night Play, just not the biggest fan of it but don't regret reading it.

Kiss of the Night By: Sherrilyn Kenyon

What do you get when you have an immortal Viking warrior no one can remember five minutes after he leaves their presence, and a demon on the run for her life who is being pursued by one seriously pissed-off demigod?

That would be my life.

It started out simple enough. One night I went to save a woman in trouble. The next thing I knew, the doorway to hell had opened and out stepped Daimons- soul-sucking vampires the likes of which I’d never seen before. Led by the son of Apollo, they are out to end the curse that has banished them all to darkness. The only problem with that is they have to kill Cassandra Peters to do it and if she dies, so dies the sun, the earth and all who dwell here. Life’s just a bowl full of cherries, ain’t it?

Brought together by fate, it’s now my job to protect a daughter of the very race I have been hunting for centuries. Neither of us dares to trust the other. But if we don’t find a way to overcome our differences and to bridge thousands of years of animosity, we won’t die alone. We’ll take the entire world with us.

Who wouldn't feel for Wulf! Dear Zeus, no one can remember him after they walk away from him!! How terribly, like seriously. I really really thought about it, and as long as he lived, he didn't have anyone outside his family and Ash that could remember him. What an awful way to live!

Of course, there is the sweet little Cassandra. Who didn't remember him at first, but fought off the mind games and was able to remember him fully.

These two have very interesting events that turn about and though it's a bit mystifying, its entertaining as well ;)

As always, another great read from Sherrilyn and a great continuation of the Dark-Hunter series!

Night Embrace By: Sherrilyn Kenyon

Setting: Modern New Orleans

"Night Embrace" spins the story of Talon, an ancient Celtic warrior who killed the son of the god Camulus.

Camulus cursed Talon, decreeing death for everyone he loved. Now a Dark-Hunter in modern-day New Orleans, Talon meets Sunshine, who is key to ending his curse once and for all. Not to mention helping him to save New Orleans from an ancient god bent on total destruction.

See original cover listed below. The cover shown here is the reissued cover that was done seven years ago.

Oh sweet, sweet Sunshine and Talon.

What would the Dark Hunter world be like without these two?!

Sunshine is an adorable dark haired free spirit artist reincarnated soul of Talon's deceased wife from centuries ago. She is very accepting of the things that play out in this book and doesn't seem to mind in the least.

Talon is afraid to love anyone because of a curse set upon him by one of the gods that death will come to anyone he loves.

Of course, it doesn't stop him from falling for his soul mate, duh.

Not a whole lot to say about this book since it wasn't a fav of mine, but hey, can't win 'em all, right!?

(Oh, Acheron...so wise....so sweet....so....adorable)

Dance with the Devil By: Sherrilyn Kenyon

Zarek's Point of View:

Dark-Hunter: A soulless guardian who stands between mankind and those who would see mankind destroyed. Yeah, right. The only part of that Code of Honor I got was eternity and solitude.

Insanity: A condition many say I suffer from after being alone for so long. But I don't suffer from my insanity-I enjoy every minute of it.

Trust: I can't trust anyone...not even myself. The only thing I trust in is my ability to do the wrong thing in any situation and to hurt anyone who gets in my way.

Truth: I endured a lifetime as a Roman slave, and 900 years as an exiled Dark-Hunter. Now I'm tired of enduring. I want the truth about what happened the night I was exiled-I have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Astrid (Greek, meaning star): An exceptional woman who can see straight to the truth. Brave and strong, she is a point of light in the darkness. She touches me and I tremble. She smiles and my cold heart shatters.

Zarek: They say even the most damned man can be forgiven. I never believed that until the night Astrid opened her door to me and made this feral beast want to be human again. Made me want to love and be loved. But how can an ex-slave whose soul is owned by a Greek goddess ever dream of touching, let alone holding, a fiery star?

One of my favorite book in the Dark Hunter series....Dance with the Devil.

The bad ass and wonderfully snarky DH, Zarek, in his cold cold world of Alaska.

Zarek has been deemed too dangerous to be around others, so for the past 900 years, he's been alone in Alaska. After a quick trip to New Orleans, Zarek is back in Alaska trying to stay alive.

Artemis and Acheron have agreed to allow Zarek to be judged to determine if he should be killed or allowed to live. The sweet and innocent, Astrid (the three fates' little sister) is the one that must judge him.

Astrid is determined to find the good in Zarek even though he isn't exactly the nicest person. But, of course, she notices the little things he does for her and she makes it her mission to find reason to deem him innocent.

These two are adorable and witty with each other. Their connection is sweet and loving and proves that everyone deserves another chance.

I have so many favorite quotes from this book, but here are the top three I've limited it to.

Night Pleasures By: Sherrilyn Kenyon

Dear Reader,

Have you ever wanted to know what it's like to be immortal? To journey through the night stalking the evil that preys on humans? To have unlimited wealth, unlimited power? That is my existence, and it is dark and dangerous. I play hero to thousands, but am known to none. And I love every minute of it.

Or so I thought until one night when I woke up handcuffed to my worst nightmare: a conservative woman in a button-down shirt. Or in Amanda's case, buttoned all the way up to her chin. She's smart, sexy, witty, and wants nothing to do with the paranormal-in other words, me.

My attraction to Amanda Devereaux goes against everything I stand for. Not to mention the last time I fell in love it cost me not only my human life, but also my very soul. Yet every time I look at her, I find myself wanting to try again. Wanting to believe that love and loyalty do exist.

Even more disturbing, I find myself wondering if there's any way a woman like Amanda can love a man whose battle scars run deep, and whose heart was damaged by a betrayal so savage that he's not sure it will ever beat again.

Kyrian of Thrace

The official Book 1 in the Dark Hunter series! Oh such a fan-freaking-tastic book!

In Night Pleasures we get a really good breakdown of most things "dark-hunter". What they are. How they became. Who they are...etc....

Specifically we are learning about Kyrian, an ancient Greek General turned Dark Hunter after being betrayed by the woman he loved, and now is over two thousand years old.

Little Miss. Amanda, well she's just a little stinker isn't she. Determined to live her life in the boring lane, she has done everything possible to not accept her sorceress powers and hide behind a facade.

Until the day she meets Kyrian. Ooo how the sparks do fly!

The enemy has came into some serious powers and it's up to the DH's to figure out how to destroy them!

Insert Acheron....

Dear Zeus...the world of the dark hunters just wouldn't be near as good if they didn't have our dear, dear, sweetling Acheron! (Duh, right!)

Fantasy Lover By: Sherrilyn Kenyon

Dear Reader,

Being trapped in a bedroom with a woman is a grand thing. Being trapped in hundreds of bedrooms over two thousand years isn't. And being cursed into a book as a love-slave for eternity can ruin even a Spartan warrior's day.

As a love-slave, I know everything about women. How to touch them, how to savor them, and most of all, how to pleasure them. But when I was summoned to fulfill Grace Alexander's sexual fantasies, I found the first woman in history who saw me as a man with a tormented past. She alone bothered to take me out of the bedroom and onto the world. She taught me to love again.

But I was not born to love. I was cursed to walk eternity alone. As a general, I had long ago accepted my sentence. Yet now I have found Grace--the one thing my wounded heart cannot survive without. Sure, love can heal all wounds, but can it break a two-thousand-year-old curse?

Julian of Macedon

OK. I'm finally going to do it! I am going to review each of the Dark Hunter series books! AHHH! I'm so geeked!

Now for the record, I've already read the whole series (including the spin off Chronicles of Nick series). I love it very much. Obviously I had some books that were just so-so, some were just okay, and then some that blew my mind!

Now that I'm going to be re-reading the series, and I actually understand the world of the Dark Hunters, I'm going to finally do reviews on them.

So, I'm starting of with the prequel, Fantasy Lover.

This book introduces how Julian Alexander has come to the land of New Orleans.

Trapped and cursed by his elder brother to be forever a love-slave, Julian is summoned by the adorable Grace Alexander.

For 30 days, Julian is her for the taking...over, and over, and over!

However.....

Our little Miss. Gracie has some problems with sexual interactions.

Due to her past history and how she lost her V-card, she can't stand the thought of using Julian the way he's suppose to be used.

She's determined to find a way to free him from this two thousand year curse and allow him to live the life he should have.

Of course, you can't spend all your days and nights with this hunky-hunkster-hunktastic specimen of man and not fall in love, right? Of course not!

So...anyway....

Fantastic book! I remember being very lost when I first read the series because I did in-fact pick this book up first and was like "Ummm....there's no mention to dark-hunters or vampires."

So, if that's YOU...then fear not my love. The official Book 1 - Night Pleasures...we really get into all that. But this really helps you to understand Julian and Grace Alexander's presence in the series.
