Pleasure Unbound by: Larissa Ione

In a place where ecstasy can cost you your life . . .

She's a demon-slayer who hungers for sensual pleasure-but fears it will always be denied her. Until Tayla Mancuso lands in a hospital run by demons in disguise, and the head doctor, Eidolon, makes her body burn with unslakable desire. But to prove her ultimate loyalty to her peers, she must betray the surgeon who saved her life.

Two lovers will dare to risk all.

Eidolon cannot resist this fiery, dangerous woman who fills him with both rage and passion. Not only is she his avowed enemy, but she could very well be the hunter who has been preying upon his people. Torn between his need for the truth and his quest to find his perfect mate before a horrific transformation claims him forever, Eidolon will dare the unthinkable-and let Tayla possess him, body and soul . . .

I'm so happy I stumbled upon this series!!

I've been wanting to find a new long series that I can really sink my teeth into! Or at least "sink my butt onto the couch and get lost in the fantasy world" into.

I knew I'd heard of the Demonica series before, but I don't think I'd ever actually heard of anyone talking about it or have it come across to me in recommendations (at least not to my knowledge). So anyway, when I came across them the other day in Listopia on Goodreads, I just knew I needed to give it a go!

And boy, I wasn't disappointed!

It took me a little extra time to really get through the first few chapters, but that's solely because there is a lot of information thrown at you and I didn't want to miss anything! Once I got the major gist of the sitation, I couldn't put the book down!

Eidolon and Tayla were amazing characters, and I really cared about them. There were twists and turns when I least expected it and I loved every minute of it!

Midnight Awakening by: Lara Adrian

With a dagger in her hand and vengeance on her mind,

Darkhaven beauty Elise Chase prowls Boston’s streets in search of retribution against the Rogue vampires who took from her everything she cherished. Using an extraordinary psychic gift, she tracks her prey, well aware that the power she possesses is destroying her. She must learn to harness this gift, and for that she can turn to only one man—the deadliest of the Breed warriors, Tegan.

No stranger to loss, Tegan knows Elise’s pain. He knows fury, but when he slays his enemies it is with ice in his veins. He is perfect in his self-control, until Elise seeks his aid in her personal war. An unholy alliance is forged—a bond that will link them by blood and vow—and plunge them into a tempest of danger, desire, and the darkest passions of the heart. . . .

AHH! Omg I can't even believe how much I loved this book!

I have a special place in my heart for those who are tormented and hurt! Their stories always seem to be so hard hitting and special.

Tegan and Elise's story are no exception! OMG these two are so amazing together.

Elise is a serious little spitfire after being coddled all her life. She's so strong and so amazing. I really liked that she was already familiar with the world of the Breed and knew how things worked....so no delaying in having to explain.

Tegan is of course one hot piece of ass! Holy cow! Tormented soul, hero, selfless, ugh....I just can't stand him (and of course by that I mean I LOVE HIM).

This series is getting better and better!

Tess is a complication he does not need—but now, with his brethren under attack, he must shield Tess from a growing threat that includes Dante himself. For with one reckless, irresistible kiss, she has become an inextricable part of his underworld realm…and his touch awakens her to hidden gifts, desires, and hungers she never knew she possessed. Bonded by blood, Dante and Tess must work together to thwart deadly enemies, even as they discover a passion that transcends the boundaries of life itself….

Ok, now this is what I like!

I LOVED Dante and Tess' story!!! They were absolutely amazing as the main couple and I really had a lot more fun reading this book than the first book in the Midnight Breed series!

Dante is so hot and masculine....and just dang....yummy!!

Tess is so sweet and down to earth even with her awful background and her super awesome Breedmate abilities! I just love her.

I found the twists and turns so entertaining! I couldn't put this book down and I seriosuly didn't want it to end.

We finally got a glimpse back at Rio...ugh., poor Rio!!!!!!!!! I loved the backstory on Sterling and Elise...or is it Elise and Tegan??? OMG I can't wait to find out!!! EEKS!

Kiss of Midnight by: Lara Adrian

He watches her from across the crowded dance club, a sensual

black-haired stranger who stirs Gabrielle Maxwell’s deepest fantasies. But nothing about this night—or this man—is what it seems. For when Gabrielle witnesses a murder outside the club, reality shifts into something dark and deadly. In that shattering instant she is thrust into a realm she never knew existed—a realm where vampires stalk the shadows and a blood war is set to ignite.

Lucan Thorne despises the violence carried out by his lawless brethren. A vampire himself, Lucan is a Breed warrior, sworn to protect his kind—and the unwitting humans existing alongside them—from the mounting threat of the Rogues. Lucan cannot risk binding himself to a mortal woman, but when Gabrielle is targeted by his enemies, he has no choice but to bring her into the dark underworld he commands.

Here, in the arms of the Breed’s formidable leader, Gabrielle will confront an extraordinary destiny of danger, seduction, and the darkest pleasures of all. . . .

Looks like I've found a fun new series to read!

The reviews weren't kidding when they said that this series is very similar to Black Dagger Brotherhood series...so of course I was eager to pick it up I have high hopes it's going to be a fun series read!

Gabrielle and Lucan are our first set of characters to learn about. Not only learning about them coming together but learning about the whole Order and about the war between the Breed and the Rogues....and I feel that all the information packed into this book made me not thoroughly enjoy the story of Gabby and Lucan. I know the all the information is needed so we can understand what's going on, but I just wasn't a fan of the way the story went for Gabby and Lucan along with the knowledge.

It probably doesn't help that I just can't get passed what Lucan did when he went into her apartment when she was sleeping! Seriously....just creepy to me.

Rapture at Midnight By: Isobelle Cate

There is an on-going war between two breeds of immortal warriors who carry human, vampire, and werewolf blood, the Cynn Cruor and the Scatha Cruor. When he pursues three Scatha warriors who can lead him to Dac, he happens upon a woman who awakens a desire within Quinn to claim her as his own.

She is the very essence of his immortal life.

Eirene Spence is an insomniac and a computer genius who loves walking in the park at midnight. She stumbles upon the Scatha Cruor and is almost killed until a handsome stranger rescues her. His touch ignites a hunger inside her that only he can satisfy.

He is her soul.

By some twist of fate, one of Eirene’s clients is Dac Valerian. She is able to tell Finn and the rest of the Cynn Cruor where Dac is hiding. Now Dac wants her dead.

Will Finn be able to keep Eirene alive and at the same time fulfill his mission? Will Eirene’s wish to be part of Finn’s life come true knowing that he is destined for someone else?

I'm so very intrigued with how this series is going to go!

I always have a special place in my heart for paranormal romance...especially vampires. These guys are a bit different from the traditional vamps, but they are still hot and sexy as hell!

I don't often have to say this, but dang...there's so much sex in this book! Like...dang...seriously!

I really like how the "mate" thing works too. To have this connection with another being, and to honestly just not question it or even fight it for that matter is refreshing. I think that's just because I've read so many books where all the person does is fight their feelings. It gets old after a while, so it's great that that definitely doesn't happen here! These two can't get enough of each other!

Up From the Grave By: Jeaniene Frost

There’s always one more grave to dig.

Lately, life has been unnaturally calm for vampires Cat Crawfield and her husband Bones. They should have known better than to relax their guard, because a shocking revelation sends them back into action to stop an all-out war…

A rogue CIA agent is involved in horrifying secret activities that threaten to raise tensions between humans and the undead to dangerous heights. Now Cat and Bones are in a race against time to save their friends from a fate worse than death…because the more secrets they unravel, the deadlier the consequences. And if they fail, their lives—and those of everyone they hold dear— will be hovering on the edge of the grave.

Such a great story! I don't know if JF is planning on being done with the Night Huntress series, but if she is, then I am well sated.

After a small reprieve, Cat and Bones are back trying to save their kind from war yet again.

More and more secrets come out that are beyond describing....well, except to say shocking and emotional to say the least!

The tricks these creatures can play on one another is just insane as well. I don't even know if I could keep up with everything if they were all true!

Oh and of course....

Gotta love our quick Vlad appearance too ;)

No Rest for the Wicked By: Kresley Cole

A vampire soldier weary of life...

Centuries ago, Sebastian Wroth was turned into a vampire—a nightmare in his mind—against his will. Burdened with hatred and alone for ages, he sees little reason to live. Until an exquisite, fey creature comes to kill him, inadvertently saving him instead.

A valkyrie assassin dispatched to destroy him...

When Kaderin the Cold Hearted lost her two beloved sisters to a vampire attack long ago, a benevolent force deadened her sorrow—accidentally extinguishing all of her emotions. Yet whenever she encounters Sebastian, her feelings—particularly lust—emerge multiplied. For the first time, she's unable to complete a kill.

Competitors in a legendary hunt...

The prize of the month-long contest is powerful enough to change history, and Kaderin will do anything to win it for her sisters. Wanting only to win her, forever, Sebastian competes as well, taking every opportunity—as they travel to ancient tombs and through catacombs, seeking relics around the world—to use her new feelings to seduce her. But when forced to choose between the vampire she's falling for and reuniting her family, how can Kaderin live without either?

And the epic world just continues!

No Rest for the Wicked follows Sebastian Wroth (Nikolai's brother from the first book Warlord Wants Forever) and Kaderin the Cold Hearted, a Valkyrie who is "blessed" with no emotional feelings.

That is, until she meets Sebastian....

These two pretty entertaining with their mission to win in the immortal competition (think Hunger Games, but for immortals and staying alive isn't the only reward).

Kaderin just can't fathom that she's blooded a vampire and can't handle all these new emotions welling up inside of her.

Poor Sebastian just wants to spoil her and take care of her. C'mon, give the poor vamp a break!!

Blood and Kindred By: Lyn Croft

Cara expected a relaxing spring break, free from studying, free from exams. Instead, her reality has been crushed as she is thrown into a world of the supernatural and finds out that the very battle between Heaven and Hell centers around her.

Halflings, Vampyres, and Werewolves are now part of her reality as she struggles to survive. Her best friend is now a vampyre and Zillah, the ancient vampyre queen is still hot on her trail. New enemies emerge as lost loved ones resurface.

In this exciting sequel to BLOOD and LILLIES, the Halflings fight to protect the key while everywhere they turn; they face betrayal and new enemies. Will Eamon lose Cara forever when she finds out the secrets behind the Halfling’s heritage and learns what she truly is? Or will Zillah finally win in her quest and open the portal between all realms, destroying our mortal reality and the key along with it?

A really great second book for the Bloodlines series!

Now that we have more of an understanding of who these characters are and what they're purpose is, thanks to Blood and Lilies, it made it much easier to follow along with the plot in Blood and Kindred.

Cara seriously can't seem to catch a break. It's hard for me to grasp what little time frame we are working with. I feel so bad for her! She barely recoups after some horrible encounter only to be faced with another!

Maybe in the next she will get a few days reprieve! LOL

Oh and we can't forget Kelsey! AH!! My heart is bleeding for her!! I already can't handle what is being done to her and I need to know, like now, what is happening to her!

The King By J.R. Ward

~*~Book Description~*~

Long live the King…

After turning his back on the throne for centuries, Wrath, son of Wrath, finally assumed his father’s mantle--with the help of his beloved mate. But the crown sets heavily on his head. As the war with the Lessening Society rages on, and the threat from the Band of Bastards truly hits home, he is forced to make choices that put everything--and everyone--at risk.

Beth Randall thought she knew what she was getting into when she mated the last pure blooded vampire on the planet: An easy ride was not it. But when she decides she wants a child, she’s unprepared for Wrath’s response--or the distance it creates between them.

The question is, will true love win out... or tortured legacy take over?

~*~My Review~*~

Another amazing book by the wonderful J.R. Ward!!

OMG, "The King" was a fantastic beyond fantastic continuation of the Black Dagger Brotherhood.

Wrath, King of the vampire race and leader of the BDB, finds himself utterly stressed out between his job and his true love, Beth.

Beth wants a baby more than anything, but it's a very risky thing in the vampire world. Women die all the time on the 'birthing table' and Wrath doesn't even want to chance it, let alone force his child upon the throne that he loathes.

Side stories include the ever fascinating Assail and Sola....I love their little side story and man, I really wished there was more. Also includes the ever annoying Trez...ugg....don't even get me started! (LOL)

Trez and the Chosen Selena, well let's just say I'm not a fan of their story.

However, I am a fan of the side story on the Chosen Layla and the Bastard Xcor. Seriously, I find myself so captivated by their connection and their choices!!! Also, I love what he Xcor does to try and impress upon Layla :)

Not much heard about the other brothers, sadly.

Though there was a bit of a mention for just about everyone...except Mary. I swear, you never hear about her anymore! Where's Mary J.R.!?!

So many funny lines in this! I love all the slams on Miley Cyrus and the Goddamn Cat! HAHA!

I tell you, I didn't have interest before, but I now want to know lots more about iAm! He such a quiet little (big) man, but I really hope we get more of him and less of his annoying brother Trez.

Anyway, seriously loved this book! Was so worth the wait!!

At Grave's End By: Jeaniene Frost

It should be the best time of half-vampire Cat Crawfield’s life. With her undead lover Bones at her side, she’s successfully protected mortals from the rogue undead. But though Cat’s worn disguise after disguise to keep her true identity a secret from the brazen bloodsuckers, her cover’s finally been blown, placing her in terrible danger.

As if that wasn’t enough, a woman from Bones’s past is determined to bury him once and for all. Caught in the crosshairs of a vengeful vamp, yet determined to help Bones stop a lethal magic from being unleashed, Cat’s about to learn the true meaning of bad blood. And the tricks she’s learned as a special agent won’t help her. She will need to fully embrace her vampire instincts in order to save herself—and Bones—from a fate worse than the grave.

Best Night Huntress book yet!

In the third Night Huntress book, Cat, Bones and the rest of her team are working hard to hunt down Patra...daughter of Cleopatra and wife the adorable Mencheres! Though, not happily married obviously.

Patra wants Bones dead and will do damn near anything to see it happen. Even unload killer zombies on everyone.

Bones and Mencheres merge their lines together to become even more powerful allies than anyone could think possible. Bones even gets to pick up a few new nifty tricks.

Oh, how could I forget...

Introduce...Vlad the Impaler! ::heart flutter::

At Grave's End has literally everything you expect and could possibly want. There's the love with Bones and Cat. Jealously with Tate. Annoyance with Justina (though, hilariously...she's starting to get better). Twists and turns with Tate and Juan. Heartbreak...enough said. Enough tears spilt because of the heartbreak. Good thing Vlad is such a smooth talker. Right? There's suspense and humor. Sex and warmth.

Seriously a great read.

One Foot In The Grave By: Jeaniene Frost

After leaving Bones behind to keep him safe, Cat has made a career out of hunting bad vampires with the special branch of the FBI. She's in charge and has helped to create the tight security facility they work out of.

Starting over without Bones has been very hard for her but Cats focused all her hurt/anger on her victims.

She's met friends along the way, including the men under her command, and Denise. Denise knows the real Cat so it's refreshing for her to not have to hid anymore and having a feminine friend.

There's been more gruesome murders and dismemberments back in Ohio that sends Cat right back to her old hometown. Quite literally, it's been calling to Cat.

When Denise has a quickie wedding, Cat finds herself walking down the aisle with a familiar face standing before her....

It's taken Bones almost 5 years, but he's finally found Cat and isn't letting her go, no matter what he has to do to keep her.

Bones' sire Ian is still in the picture and wanting to keep Cat for himself. It becomes vampire politics to see who gets to keep her.

I really enjoyed book 2 of the Night Huntress series. Cat and Bones are entertaining as ever and both sexier than ever. They have some seriously intense sex that makes you secretly wish vampire weren't only real, but these special vampires with their special powers.

Cat is such a funny and sassy woman. No doubt she would be a damn funny person to meet if she were real.

I do have some issues regarding the way she talks to her mom. Though I can totally understand, being that I can't believe some of the things that comes out of her mom's mouth either. But sometimes I just felt like it was too much. Instead of saying something like 'enough, Mom' she chooses 'stuff it, Mom'. But, again, her Mom is very mean about stuff she says too

Halfway To The Grave By: Jeaniene Frost

Flirting with the Grave...
Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father - the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unholy partnership.

In exchange for finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner - are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn't have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

Cat is a half breed vampire who hunts down vampires as a hobby.

Crispin Russell, aka Bones, full vampire, is a vampire bounty hunter.

After a pretty hilarious introduction, they make an arrangement to work together to hunt down some of the biggest baddest vampires.

Bones trains Cat in all the ways she's lacking and they gives her a bit of a makeover as well.

Together, they learn about a lot disappearing women that go "unnoticed" by their family and even police. Obviously something isn't right here, and they are bound and determined to figure it out!

All while they're fighting for their lives as well as saving others lives, they fall in love. But its hard for Cat to come to terms with because of her previous prejudice with vampires due to her absent vampire sire that raped her mother that resulted in her birth.

This story is highly entertaining and full of love, humor, and some kick ass fighting. Cat is just a little badass and Bones is a fantastic English accented bonus in everything.

It's been fun watching Cat come into some of the powers she has due to her half vampire self. She and Bones are super funny and super sexy together. This was my second time reading this book, and I sure did miss it. Glad I'm re-reading the series!

Hit List By: Laurell K. Hamilton

Hit List does not disappoint. Anita is thrown into helping hunt down the lone tigers being murdered along the coast by the Harlequin and therefore, the Mother of all Darkness.

Her and Edward are out searching together, when of course Olaf and Bernardo are called in to help.

Olaf has his moments of "creepy" and I seriously love those moments. He meets Nicky, and realizes that if Anita can 'tame' him with her mind rolling, he is even a bit creeped out by it. After an accident with a werelioin, Olaf ends up disappearing for a little while in fear of Anita! An unexpected twist, huh!

Let's all give a warm welcome to, Ethan!

Though I really missed the main sweeties, I really enjoyed the break from it all and really getting down to the mystery. That's one of the things I love about Laurell Hamilton, she seems to know when things start to get a bit much and is able to get you back into the main point of the books and keep you seriously interested as well!

**A bit more detailed review will follow, after I re-read the books**

Affliction By: Laurell K. Hamilton

In Affliction, Anita, Micha, and Nathaniel all head back to Micha's hometown because his dad has fallen ill. Micha wants to make amends for leaving the family 10 years ago before his dad dies.

While visiting, they find that flesh eating zombies and rotting vampires are all but taking over and attacking locals citizens and hikers causing the fatal disease that is plaguing Micha's dad. Being the good Marshal she is, Anita takes over the case. Though it's somewhat upsetting that she can't just be there for Micha, we all know and love her and we all know Anita wouldn't do anything less. Since the disease is obviously paranaturally caused, she feels it's her duty to find the culprit. Even the infamous Edward comes to town to help with the "zombie apocalypse". ::Swoon::  Gotta love me some Edward.

In this latest installment of the Anita Blake series, #22 out of 22, fans are sure to be fulfilled with all requirements that Laurel Hamilton promises in her stories.

Sex, mushy love, crime solving, erotica...you name it, this one has it.

Anita finally realizes she's in love with another one of her men...I'm very happy with this because I really feel that he deserves her love. He goes against everything she really believes in, since he's a sociopath and all, but she loves him regardless and though she starts to pick at it to try and fracture those feelings, she quickly realizes what she's doing and stops.

Marriage in the air!? I could have screamed I was so happy when she opened the shower curtain to find you know who standing there! I always wanted him to come and help her, and I just wanted to cry happy tears for her with the proposal!

I've really loved being a part of Anita's last 6-7 years. I had a lot of fun watching her come to accept who she is and what she is.

So much humor, love, and mystery all rolled into one.

This series literally meets all requirements for books that I just love reading. Especially since they are all so different from each other.

Starting out, they were just really about the mystery. Then the books moved onto love. Then onto being a "monster". To being OK with the "monsters". Then changing up just sex to serious erotica. Even to BDSM. All while keeping all the previous topics in each book!

Seriously, Laurell K. Hamilton is a fantastic author. I don't just feel like Anita is just another character I've read, but really become to love.

Kiss The Dead By: Laurell K. Hamilton

I definitely can't get enough of Anita Blake. I love her. I love all the men in her life, and I can't stop reading her books....

In Kiss The Dead, Anita's main focus is on finding a master vampire who is turning children/teens/elderly into vampires. In the matter of a few days this group of mundane looking people start kidnapping/murder/plotting deaths. This mysterious "Benjamin" is just a name in this book, but I'm sure we will actually meet Benjamin in another book down the road.

Drama llama Asher strikes again. Asher is back to having problems with not being the single "sweetie" to someone. Devil has become the main boyfriend for Asher, but it's just not enough since Dev likes girls too. Jean-Claude and Anita are at their wits end.

Nicky suffers an unfortunate circumstance when he fills in to feed the ardeur for Anita.

There is a new main character, Marshal Arlen Brice...he definitely seems like he's going to be a fun character...but there is still something just not right about him. He seems to know just too much about Anita and I think there maybe more to it.

As always, Laurell Hamilton's world is absolutely amazing. Even after 21 books, I can't wait for more. She has such a great mind and creative side and can seriously makes your really care about the characters, each and every single one of them...even the drama llama.

Easily 5 out of 5 Stars!
