I tell you what....haters are gonna hate. ALL the reviewers that are hating on the book just don't appreciate a good NOVEL. They just want it fast and hot and over. All "wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am". YOU DON'T GET THAT WITH THIS BOOK! You get details, you get history, you get anticipation, you get explanations, you get CONNECTION WITH THE CHARACTERS!  This book has been on my TBR list for quite a while and finally got my opportunity to read it! It was so very different than what I expected. Because...wait for it....I was expecting it to be the "wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am" type book that I've grown accustomed to. THANK ZEUS that didn't happen with this book. I adored learning so much about Diana and Matthew. I'm excited for their story to continue and to read on to the second book! I don't even read full book descriptions because there is nothing more I hate than spoilers! I don't want any type of detail about what is going to come to pass in the book!

Emotional beyond belief doesn't even begin to describe Shadowfever.

I've cried in many books, I seriously have...I'm kinda a wuss...but I was so tormented by this (hence the reason I had to peak forward).

So many things have to come to pass in order to contain this blasted Dark Book! New alliances are forged, new plans are made, and yet...not. 

Oh man, even after the fourth time, this series has be sitting on the edge of my seat! I still find new details that I never noticed in previous readings!

The Fever series it the one series that I ALWAYS refer friends to read! Every single one of them love it just as much as I do!

Oh man! How amazing was the end of the third book!?! 

The fourth book we start up right exactly where we left off and it's just so amazing!

Can we just take a moment and appreciate the sexual beast that is Barrons....Dear KMM....thank you for those wonderfully explicit explanations of that sensual and amazing man. 

Dreamfever is the beginning of life after the walls fall. The dark book is still out there and now the human population is a third gone, more Unseelie has come out and is helping in destroying the world.

I'm not going to even touch what happens at the end of this book....I just can't bring myself to even think about it.....

The third book it the fever series, Faefever, is just as amazing as the first two!

Mac is learning more and more about herself and even about what her sister had learned before she died. 

This book is jammed packed with excitement and sexual tension! The walls between man and Faery are about to fall and many things need to fall into place to make sure it doesn't! I was so sure of what would happen the first time I read this book, and I was so shocked with the twists and turns of the events!

And let's not forget when Mac is caught by the Unseelie Princes'....dun dun duuuun!

For those unfamiliar with the Fae and are reading this series, this book will be even better than the first. We've already established connections, important information has already been provided, and now we can focus on the problems at hand! Finding that darn book!

Mac and Barrons are still working together and are constantly at each others throats, literally!

We have a few hot and steamy moments that you never forget! 

Incredible quotes in this book as well! Quotes that are forever stuck in the readers mind. I'm sure most authors aspire to do this, and KMM seems to not even have to try. The way her words fall off the pages and enter your mind is just flawless and amazing!

Anywho...

Ummmm, HELLO!?! Who doesn't just love this book!? Seriously, this was a fantastic read.

Everyone was all up-in-arms because Dani is only a teenager and we get some obvious vibes from some hotties that they are so interested in the woman she's gonna become!

But hey, seriously, this WOW'd my expectations.

I also can't wait to learn more about Ryodan and even more about his role in Dani's life! So many speculations...so many hints....but I just say we need to wait for the books to come out!

Dani and livin large out on her "own". Though she's been recruited to help Ry-O with finding the reason for sections of Dublin being iced over and killing all living things inside it.

Tempers ride, hormones rage, feelings are swept up left and right! ICED seriously has it all. No let down from this serious Fever series fan!

Darkfever By: Karen Marie Moning

Without a doubt, one of my all time favorite series! I'm currently re-reading the books for the fourth time because I can never get enough!

MacKayla Lane, aka Mac, journeys over to Dublin to hunt down answers about her sisters murder hoping to find the killer and have her revenge. She discovers things about herself and city around her that change her life forever. 

Barrons...oh, Jericho Barrons. Not much needs to be explained about this man...this exotic, sexy, damn hottness of a man. Just...daaaaaamn. He is by far the most intense and amazing main characters I've ever read. EVER. Like seriously, ever.

Anyway...


Barrons provides Mac protection from all the things that go bump in the night and educating her as to what she is in return for helping in the search for the Dark Book. Tensions run high, not just sexual tension either, when these two try to work together for the common goal...to get the Dark Book!

OMG this was one of the most amazing books!! 

I love love love Kresley Cole and I'm so glad I finally picked up The Professional.

I was hesitant because I just love her Immortals After Dark series and I was terrified this wouldn't live up to those books!

Though I should have known better...not only is The Professional a completely different genre, but I already knew I loved her work. So chances were high that I was going to love this! 

I saw many reviews on Twitter from fellow fans about how incredibly erotic and hot The Professional was....OMG they were NOT kidding!! Fan-freaking-tastic-amaze-balls! 

Such hot heat between Sevastyan and Natalie! I don't think there's been another book that had such an instant connection like these two! 

Such a fun read. I really enjoyed it thoroughly and I really hope it continues on...I'm incredibly curious about Sevastyan's brothers!

A Lick of Frost By: Laurell K. Hamilton

 OMG! What a great Merry Gentry book!

Merry and her men are finally back in LA. But that doesn't stop the threats coming her way now does it? Hell-no. Freaking King is gone mad and wants Merry for his wife, the Queen is gone sadistic on one of the guards because she didn't talk with Merry first about rumors, Frost....dear lord, Frost....OMG!! I can't even handle it!

Such a great read. Some great news in this book! But of course it isn't just a simple thing...it's gotta be all complex and shit, lol.

As with most of LKH's work, I want to really to just spill the beans about everything that's happened, but for those that haven't read it yet, I really really really don't want to give away any spoilers. 

Let's just say, very emotional book. Very good book. Very, well, just a great continuation of Merry's life.

**This book is more a novella than novel. Approximately just over 200 pages.

Ok, I can honestly admit that I feel a bit lost at all the events taken place in a matter of hours in Mistral's Kiss.

The book picks up right where it left off in the fourth book, and our little group of Merry and her men get transported through the sithen to the dead garden. It's there, Mistral and Merry get another go at their more 'BDSM' style love making.

It's during this little romp that Mistral and Merry's magic bring life back to the garden. It also takes some of the men into the ground and sky (Galen, Nicca, Adair...and a few others).Though with the return of life they are a bit trapped in the garden.

Since Merry is now able to make requests to the sithen, and after several attempts, Merry's magical door send her and her men to the slaugh's garden! Enter Sholto....yum. LOL, I have no idea what it is, but I adore King Sholto....

Anywho, lots of things happen while they're in the slaugh's garden...which include but not limited to: another death of a hag, Sholto and Merry getting it on, the wild hunt being released, Sholto wearing a flower/vine crown (lol), and the wild hunt after all things sidhe!

And how does the book end.....CEL IS OUT AND AFTER MERRY!! After a little mishap with our sweetheart Galen, all prisoners are free'd and that includes the ever insane Cel! The Queen has mandated that Merry and her guys go back to LA so she can get Cel under control.

A Caress of Twilight By: Laurell K. Hamilton

Ok, book #2 in the Merry Gentry series! 

I still am a little hesitant with this series, just because I see some seriously mixed reviews. Between my Goodreads friends, real-life friends, and other bloggers...there really is no consistency. 

That being said...I really did like the second book.

I felt more comfortable in A Caress of Twilight than I did in A Kiss of Shadows, mostly because the main characters we've finally met and gotten to know more as well as the life of being a sidhe. 

I've read fantasy books before that revolve around the fae (mostly Karen Marie Moning's Fever series), so I understood most of it. But the first book did have a lot of important information that I probably didn't pay enough attention to, but now I understand a whole lot more after reading this book.

Ok...

So, Merry is back in LA with all of her guards/lovers. We have Frost (yum), Doyle, Galen, Rhys, Nicca, and Kitto (not a guard but more 'pet'). She is having her fun romps on the sacks with all so far except Doyle and Galen...both for very different reasons. Though, in this book we finally get to the bottom of what's going on with Galen as well as some unexpected turn of events in the sack for our little Miss. Meredith.

Merry and the boys have had to take a step back from the PI business because of the bad stuff going down with the Nameless and some crazy group deaths. Lots of time for plotting and planning without having to go into work for now, huh?! Or maybe, just some extra time for some lovin...yea, not so much really. LOL

We still have our little humor bits here and there, and we even having feelings of love floating in the air.

Merry is definitely a very special heroine. She is very educated and knowledgeable about the faerie life and those that live in it. I love her brain and her personality! Dare I think I like her more than Anita Blake.....no....not yet, but she's could be in the running!

Great book. Laurell K. Hamilton did another great job!

I finally picked up the first book in the Merry Gentry series! Man, I feel like I've been putting it off for SO long!

I recently was at J.R. Ward's book signing for 'The King' and I met few great people there. Not only did we talk and discuss all things J.R. Ward, but we really talked up Laurell K. Hamilton as well! I admitted that I hadn't yet read the Merry Gentry series and you should have seen the looks I was given! Eeps...so I got with the program and just finished reading A Kiss of Shadows.

I knew this was going to be a great read, primarily because I absolutely love Laurell K. Hamilton. I love her books, I love her Facebook updates, and I just love her mind!

Ok, so here is my breakdown!

Merry has been on the run for three years. She's a mere mortal in the world of the sidhe though she recently has come into her own powers. With many people trying trying to kill her because of her half human blood, she decided to try and run away from her royalty titles and future.

Three years, that really is a blink of an eye in the immortal world. But that's just how long she lasted before she was finally found.

After heading back to the faerie world, Merry has realized that the queen wants something from her, and surprisingly it's not her death! She finally meets up with her aunt, the queen, after many attempts to thwart the rendezvous, and she is taken aback at what it is exactly the queen is requesting of Merry.

Sex and humor are not missing in this fantastic read! I love all the characters we've met and I can't wait to read on! If the Anita Blake series was anything to go by, then these books are just going to get better and better!

Flirt By: Laurell K. Hamilton

In this novella, Flirt, Anita is kidnapped by werelions for the purpose of raising the corpse of a rich man used to getting his way.

This is a short story for the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series, but it's still a goodie. It only runs to be just under 200 hundred pages, as opposed them running around 400 pages or so.

No one likes to be threatened, but no one takes it near as far as Anita does.

When she finds out her main sweeites, Micha and Nathaniel are being followed by snipers ready for the kill if she doesn't do what they want her to do, Anita, being only who she is, finds a way to save them all including herself.

Nicky is the newest member of Clan Anita, haha! You gotta love how he comes to be her "Bride".

Hit List By: Laurell K. Hamilton

Hit List does not disappoint. Anita is thrown into helping hunt down the lone tigers being murdered along the coast by the Harlequin and therefore, the Mother of all Darkness.

Her and Edward are out searching together, when of course Olaf and Bernardo are called in to help.

Olaf has his moments of "creepy" and I seriously love those moments. He meets Nicky, and realizes that if Anita can 'tame' him with her mind rolling, he is even a bit creeped out by it. After an accident with a werelioin, Olaf ends up disappearing for a little while in fear of Anita! An unexpected twist, huh!

Though I really missed the main sweeties, I really enjoyed the break from it all and really getting down to the mystery. That's one of the things I love about Laurell Hamilton, she seems to know when things start to get a bit much and is able to get you back into the main point of the books and keep you seriously interested as well!

Affliction By: Laurell K. Hamilton

In Affliction, Anita, Micha, and Nathaniel all head back to Micha's hometown because his dad has fallen ill. Micha wants to make amends for leaving the family 10 years ago before his dad dies.

While visiting, they find that flesh eating zombies and rotting vampires are all but taking over and attacking locals citizens and hikers causing the fatal disease that is plaguing Micha's dad. Being the good Marshal she is, Anita takes over the case. Though it's somewhat upsetting that she can't just be there for Micha, we all know and love her and we all know Anita wouldn't do anything less. Since the disease is obviously paranaturally caused, she feels it's her duty to find the culprit. Even the infamous Edward comes to town to help with the "zombie apocalypse". ::Swoon::  Gotta love me some Edward.

In this latest installment of the Anita Blake series, #22 out of 22, fans are sure to be fulfilled with all requirements that Laurel Hamilton promises in her stories.

Sex, mushy love, crime solving, erotica...you name it, this one has it.

Anita finally realizes she's in love with another one of her men...I'm very happy with this because I really feel that he deserves her love. He goes against everything she really believes in, since he's a sociopath and all, but she loves him regardless and though she starts to pick at it to try and fracture those feelings, she quickly realizes what she's doing and stops.

Marriage in the air!? I could have screamed I was so happy when she opened the shower curtain to find you know who standing there! I always wanted him to come and help her, and I just wanted to cry happy tears for her with the proposal!

I've really loved being a part of Anita's last 6-7 years. I had a lot of fun watching her come to accept who she is and what she is.

So much humor, love, and mystery all rolled into one.

This series literally meets all requirements for books that I just love reading. Especially since they are all so different from each other.

Starting out, they were just really about the mystery. Then the books moved onto love. Then onto being a "monster". To being OK with the "monsters". Then changing up just sex to serious erotica. Even to BDSM. All while keeping all the previous topics in each book!

Seriously, Laurell K. Hamilton is a fantastic author. I don't just feel like Anita is just another character I've read, but really become to love.
